StanChart sees return on investment in sponsorship of Liverpool

ANFIELD, Liverpool: Standard Chartered Bank is among big corporate global names hoping to grow their brand through sports sponsorship.
The UK lender is investing millions of dollars in its sponsorship deal with the English premier league football team Liverpool.
StanChart said that on the first day the deal was announced, it already saw a return of some US$8 million - just through media coverage alone.
The deal was announced officially in July this year.
Anfield has been home to the Liverpool Football Club since 1892.
Some 45,000 fans fill up the stadium whenever the Reds come out to play.
And millions more from around the world tune in to watch the matches "live" on television.
